Tested: the Inissio Gravel | Simplon Magazine

|Bikes & Tests

The gravel bike testers of RoadBike took a close look at the Simplon Inissio Gravel. Their verdict: powerful, smart, unique. Check out the review!

"One thing the Inissio Gravel can't do? Go slow."

The gravel bike tested by RoadBike

The gravel bike testers of RoadBike tested twelve of the latest gravel bikes and drew their conclusions in the current issue of “Gravelbike” magazine. To them, the Inissio Gravel by Simplon is clearly one of the winning bikes ...

Features of the test bike

  • frame: carbon
  • shifting system: Shimano GRX 810 48/31 x 11-30 (2x11) XT
  • tyres: DT Swiss G 1800, Schwalbe G-One Allround 700c x 40

Pronounced propulsion

"Rarely does a gravel bike show so clearly that it wants to be moved at speed. Always. And anywhere." This is the first conclusion the testers drew about the Inissio Gravel. The sporty seating position with steep seat angle, saddle-to-bar drop, and reach is decisive for the bike’s pronounced propulsion.

Perfectly equipped for any terrain

Gravel road or bumpy forest trail: The RoadBike testers put the Inissio Gravel through its paces in every conceivable terrain. Thanks to its flat steering angle and long wheelbase, the all-rounder "reliably stays on track, runs smoothly and feels sturdy".

These smart technologies stand out:

  • Smart Headset: sleek and tidy look thanks to internal cable routing directly from the headset into the frame
  • Chainstay Shield: Stainless steel protectors on the inside of the chainstays prevent dirt and stones from damaging the frame.

Verdict

The gravel bike is clearly designed for propulsion – which makes it particularly fun to ride in fast races and on speedy tours. Another bonus: It’s suitable for bikepacking. The Inissio Gravel is also available with a rear rack, mudguards, and a light system ... a huge advantage on extended bikepacking adventures!
