The Chenoa Bosch CX in a fact check by MYBIKE

A high-quality step-through bike for everyday use

MYBIKE regularly conducts independent tests of the latest bikes on the market. This time they put the Chenoa Bosch CX by Simplon through its paces. Among other things, the testers discussed the question whether it makes sense to have a carbon step-through frame … How did the e-bike designed by Simplon’s team of tinkerers perform in their test? Let’s find out!

Light, lighter, Chenoa Bosch CX

Full range of equipment, battery, mid drive unit – yet still ultra-lightweight? Simplon relies on carbon for their Chenoa Bosch CX and hits the bull’s eye with that. Frame, fork and seat post are all made from carbon. Besides an incredibly low weight, the material also provides maximum safety. Another important feature: Even in narrow curves, the open frame remains stiff and on track, which enables precise steering.

The voluminous tyres, the curved handlebars and the upright seat also make the e-bike a comfortable companion for everyday use – even without integrated suspension fork.

The most powerful Bosch aggregate gives the Simplon bike quite a boost when needed, but it’s still nicely controllable via pedal pressure.

A hefty drive unit and high-quality build

Simplon has used the latest Bosch Performance CX drive unit in their design of the Chenoa Bosch. “The most powerful Bosch aggregate gives the Simplon bike quite a boost when needed, but it’s still nicely controllable via pedal pressure.” – state the MYBIKE experts.

One highlight: the build of the step-through frame. Part of it are the cased stem matching the head tube and the unobtrusive cable routing through the special headset.

The jury was also impressed by the stiff mudguards made from aluminium. They are immensely resistant to bending and warping, and they don’t rattle.

What else stands out?

  • Opening on the seat tube for mounting a belt drive unit – reduces maintenance requirements
  • Shimano XT disc brakes and XT derailleur – for durable and long-lasting functioning
  • frame available in multiple colours – diverse options for variety
