Tested by Bikeboard: the Inissio Gravel

Simplon’s all-purpose racer put to the test

"The end of the asphalt is no longer the end of the road." Thanks to the well-thought-out Inissio Gravel by Simplon, dirt roads are the new objects of desire for road cyclists. Reinhard Hörmann of Bikeboard tested the gravel bike on every conceivable terrain and came to the conclusion: "It can do anything it wants to do – and it does so exceptionally well.”

Design, technology and features of the gravel bike

Triple fusion, Vibrex technology, asymmetric chainstays and Raptor Dropout: That’s only a small selection of the technologies Simplon has used on the new Inissio Gravel. According to Bikeboard test rider Reinhard, these technologies have been creating the foundation for "consistent quality" for decades already. Whether it's the high rigidity, the improved agility or the consistent propulsion: Each technology on its own offers enormous benefits.

More details on the technologies!

"Understatement meets elegance and timelessness" – that's his verdict on the design. Thanks to the internally routed cables, the Inissio Gravel also looks extremely tidy and sleek.

Geometry

The geometry of the bike – with a comparatively long top tube, high stack, central sitting position and very flat drop bars – is designed for maximum comfort. In addition, anti-slip GRX handlebars ensure a secure grip on rough terrain. The shift and brake levers are within easy reach. The Inissio Gravel by Simplon impressed the testers with its craftsmanship, look and feel.

".. but above all, the comfort of both the rear and the front is outstandingly high and perfectly balanced."

The Inissio Gravel in action

Reinhard Hörmann appreciates the advantages of the Inissio Gravel: "Despite the flat steering angle and 40 mm tires (Schwalbe G One TL), the bike feels very nimble, the stiff frame does not yield even when accelerating from a standstill, but above all, the comfort of both the rear and the front is outstandingly high and perfectly balanced." By the way: Any bumps caused by gravel, roots and rough terrain are absorbed by the frame – another plus regarding comfort.

And for those planning to go on longer tours ... The Inissio Gravel can be equipped with mudguards, a rear rack and light system, making it the perfect bike for touring and other adventures.
