The Austrian financial investor SOL Capital Management wants to consolidate the SIMPLON brand within Austrian cycling and further expand its market position with a capital injection. The plans for the future send a clear signal: Administration and production will remain firmly anchored in Austria.

New investor: SOL Capital takes over SIMPLON

The Austrian financial investor SOL Capital Management - which specializes in the restructuring of companies - has announced the takeover of SIMPLON. SIMPLON Holding GmbH is to be fully acquired by a SOL Capital fund (subject to regulatory approvals and the legal validity of the restructuring plan). With a capital injection, SOL Capital wants to strengthen the SIMPLON brand as a leading name in cycling and secure our location in Austria with approx. 140 employees.
Together we have ambitious plans for the future. SIMPLON has an excellent reputation in a promising market for premium bicycles. We want to exploit this potential.

Future secured: SIMPLON with new CEO and clear expansion strategy

The future plan for SIMPLON Fahrrad GmbH was unanimously approved by the creditors today and confirmed by the Feldkirch Regional Court. After three months of restructuring proceedings, the restart of the company is now finally secured. Christoph Mannel will join the team as the new CEO in near future. SOL Capital plans to strengthen the SIMPLON brand and drive expansion in the European and international bicycle markets.
This fresh start is not only positive news for the approximately 140 employees of SIMPLON, but also for enthusiastic customers and the renowned delivery and trading partners of the company. The planned takeover by a new investor secures Austria as the location for innovation and production of SIMPLON bikes, not to mention protection of the tradition steeped brand, while also opening new opportunities for further company development.
